Safina Stewart

Wuthathi Island and Mabuiag Island Safina Stewart (nee Fergie), has been involved in community, corporate and private art projects in Melbourne since 2007. Her artwork is beautiful and widely appealing. Being both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander in Indigenous heritage, Safina is able to draw from a rich heritage to create stunning and meaningful artworks. Her Indigenous heritage comes from Mabuiag Island in the Torres Strait and Wuthathi Country in Far North Queensland, and her Non- Indigenous heritage comes from Scotland. Safina’s acrylic paintings are vibrant in colour and fluid in their line work. But the richest feature of her artwork is the meaningful stories they entail. As an Indigenous woman, educator and professional artist, Safina comes with a wide range of creative ideas that envelop insightful cultural awareness. She has experience in teaching, artist in residence programs, exhibitions, public speaking and commissioned art projects. Safina’s public studio gallery is located in Pod 3 at The Sticks Kilcunda: 3537 Bass Hwy, Kilcunda, VIC 3995. www.artbysafina.com.au
