NAIDOC Week is an Australian observance lasting from the first Sunday in July until the following Sunday. The acronym NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee.

NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aborigine and Torres Strait  Islander peoples. The week is celebrated both in Indigenous Australian communities and increasingly across Australia.

The NAIDOC 2022 theme- Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! calls for all of us to continue to participate in NAIDOC week celebrations by joining our voices to narrow the gap between aspiration and reality, good intent and outcomes.

The artists featured in this year’s exhibition exemplify everything the NAIDOC Week theme represents. The Bass Coast/ South Gippsland Reconciliation Group is grateful for their continued commitment and support.
